This story is about a young girl named Mijiza who endures being teased and bullied because of her dark skin tone. She was often told that she was pretty to be dark-skinned. This made her feel very insecure. She began to envy girls with a lighter skin tone. After speaking with her parents about what she was going through, she came to realize that she was not just pretty to be dark-skinned—she was just plain pretty. Not only was she pretty, but she was special and unique with a God-given purpose.This story will empower children of all ages to be self-confident and to understand that beauty comes in all different shapes, sizes and skin tones.
